In August 2014, Kodexe teamed up with Beijer Electronics to embark on a highly exciting journey. The goal? An easily administrated, corporate-wide platform solution with new ways of utilizing digital technology to support and grow business.
With key systems and integrations in place, and with the successful launch of the first (global) website, Kodexe and valued solutions partners Sitecore and inRiver can only conclude that the project has been – and will continue to be – hugely successful.

Beijer Electronics IT-infrastructure had spun out of control: An arrangement of numerous tailored and independent ERP and CMS solutions and a total of 20 global websites was preventing them from acquiring global business overview. It was time to introduce a new set-up, where a few standardized systems would be integrated to function on a global basis.
The plan was to abandon the old IBM Lotus Notes- and Domino technology in favor of a Microsoft-centric stack, and IFS had already been established as new global ERP. In consultation with Kodexe, it was decided that the Sitecore Experience Platform would be introduced as the new global web CMS. Apart from being a highly suitable platform for integrations, the Sitecore CMS would form an excellent foundation for forthcoming strategies involving personalized content across all marketing and sales channels. The embedded module Language Fallback would be crucial for smooth local market adaptations, and would allow for a radical cut-back in the number of discrete websites within Beijer Electronics.
At a later stage, Beijer Electronics will look into modifying its e-business site to become Sitecore-based and truly customer-centric. As a first step however, the existing e-business site will be integrated with Sitecore and IFS to facilitate orders and order history via customer web log-in.
inRiver PIM will become the new global hub for managing marketing descriptions, images and technical data. Being highly effective as well as flexible, the system will undoubtedly be apt for the sophisticated data structures needed to allow for local market adaptations of the product assortment. As a first step, inRiver PIM will populate public web as well as Beijer’s soon-to-be released web portal store for customized purchases of software applications. Integrations needed to be established between inRiver PIM and Sharepoint, in which is the software code for the apps was stored.
With website consolidation complete and integrations established, Kodexe equipped Beijer Electronics new website with a lead generator and a Global Log-In. In short, a single sign on is automatically created via strategic CTA:s, e.g. downloading newsletters or loading application demos. This allows the digital footprint of website visitors to be traced across markets and websites. Visitors and customers actively registering on the web will now have extended access to information and services via MyPortal.
“We’ve always had a really good relationship with Kodexe. They understand the business value of the integrations, they know what we can achieve with the platform, and they have really deep technical skills.”
