LONDON, UK, 01 August  2012 –Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG), a Worldwide Olympic Partner, hosted an afternoon of laughter, memories and song today as moms of Olympians enjoyed an appearance by British icon Mary Poppins.

The world’s most famous nanny opened her umbrella and flew in to the P&G Family Home, treating moms of Olympians from all over the world to an afternoon of songs, including ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.’ The visit was just another way that P&G is serving moms of Olympians and their families while in London—all part of P&G’s Thank You Mom campaign, which recognizes a special person behind every Olympian – Mom.

Deivi Sadeiko, Mom of an Estonian Olympian said, “I have always admired Mary Poppins and it was fun to hear parenting tales from the world’s most famous nanny! Being in London for the Olympic Games has been amazing; I’m incredibly proud of my daughter for achieving her dreams and making it this far. This month was always going to be one of the best of my entire life, but with this thoughtful gestures likes this, P&G is making every moment even more special. It’s been wonderful to spend quality time with my daughter and enjoy ourselves like this, and I can’t thank P&G enough.”

“It’s such a huge achievement to compete in the Olympic Games, and it’s an honor to be able to come to the P&G Family Home and perform in front of so many talented and dedicated athletes and their families from around the world,” said Mary Poppins, a.k.a. Rhionnon Duffy. “I hope that this has made them feel even more welcome in London.”

P&G’s Thank You Mom campaign is the largest campaign in P&G’s 175-year history.  P&G brands are supporting more than 150 athletes from around the world. As a company, P&G is serving a special person behind every athlete – mom.  The Thank You Mom campaign has helped moms travel to see their children compete in London 2012 Olympic Games, provided entrance to the Opening Ceremony and access to the P&G Family Home to watch events together, celebrate and relax.

The campaign has been brought to life through a variety of media channels from April through August. Olympic Games-themed P&G branded products are featured in millions of stores across the globe. As a part of the Thank You Mom program, P&G has also committed to raise $5 million to support local youth sports programs through a portion of sales and donations from the company’s leadership brands, including Pampers®, Tide®, Gillette® and Pantene®.
