Future Mine and Mineral an international mining and exploration conference arranged in Stockholm, Sweden since 2011. signs Memorandum of Understanding with PDAC the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada to strengthen the cooperation between the Swedish and Canadian exploration and mining communities.
The purpose of this MoU is to facilitate collaboration between the PDAC and the FMM with the shared goal of supporting responsible exploration and and mining in northern and remote areas, with an initial focus on Sweden.
The FMM partners (Georange, Geological Survey of Sweden, Luleå University of Technology and Municipality of Skellefteå) will support the PDAC collaboration with FMM.
The Memeramdum of Understanding was signed on January 30 in Stockholm at the seventh Future Mine and Mineral conference by Andrew Cheatle, Executive Director of PDAC, Lennart Gustavsson chairman of Georange, Lena Söderberg, Director General of Geological Survey of Sweden, Pär Weihed, professor of Luleå University of Technology, Bengt Ivansson, Marketing Director of Municipality of Skellefteå and Jan Ots CEO of Nordic Publishing. PDAC was represented by Nadim Kara, Senior Director, Policy & Programs.
The ”FMM” is a high-level conference that brings together representatives from the Nordic region associated with mineral exploration and mining, including companies, industry associations, politicians, regulators, public servants, experts and service and equipment suppliers. High-level representatives from the European Commission, embassies and NGOs also attend the conference. During the two day summit, the emphasis is on the outlook for the Nordic mining sector, with particular focus on exploration, legislation, financing and mine developments.
The FMM cooperates closely with the Canadian embassy in Stockholm and invites prominent representatives from Canada to contribute to program.
