Natalia Mikkola has a flair for the sensual and mystical. Uninterested in pure documentation, her camera lens blurs the boundaries between realism and fantasy. Subtle color palettes are recurrent themes, as in the misty gray monocromatic shades seen in “Karelia” and “Victoria Falls”. In other works, such as “Sylt, Kampen, Nordfriesland” a graphic landscape slowly evolves.

Noted art collectors and art experts throughout Europe have already picked up artwork of Natalia Mikkola – Fine Art chromogenic prints mounted on plexiglas (Diasec®).

LOTTE@GALLERIDUERR.COM GALLERIDUERR.COMNatalia Mikkola is represented by Galleri Duerr at the highly rated Nordic Antiques Fair, Antikmässan.

Galleri Duerr was founded by Deborah Duerr, with a degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. Before she moved to Sweden she worked in design offices in San Francisco and New York. Lotte Johansson, storyteller, creates portraits of our artists and runs Art Talks together with Deborah. Their first collaboration was with the project Children’s Art Museum during 1999, which they held exhibitions and workshops at The International World Congress of Child Psychiatry in collaboration with Astrid Lindgren’s Hospital, The Water Festival along with SOS Children’s Villages and the Swedish Rail Culture Train that ran between Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg.

Galleri Duerr has had since its start 2006 an exhibition program with painting/drawing, sculpture, photography and design in focus. The gallery shows work of both new and established artists. During the years the gallery has developed into a living forum for performance and exhibitions in various formats.

In conjunction with Women´s Day 2014, Galleri Duerr went from concept to event in just seven days highlighting women artists, musicians, designers and other creative professionals as a counterweight to the way young woman often are portrayed in the digital gaming culture, a culture that dominates more and more the leisure time of children and young people.

Galleri Duerr invests in cross-cultural meetings between different form of art, artists and generations. National and international. We focus particularly on highlighting upcoming artists and female artists as positive role models.

We believe art exhibitions are great ways to tell stories and that contemporary art should be accessible to everyone. That is why Galleri Duerr has been operating as a mobile gallery since June 2014, with the goal of reaching out to a wider and more diversified audience. In 2014 the gallery participated in the Affordable Art Fair Stockholm as one of the best selling galleries. In February we will show up in Antikmässan.
