Pressmeddelande   •   Apr 20, 2009 10:31 CEST

Nokia Siemens Networks plans to increase its operations in Indonesia by setting-up a telecoms equipment distribution hub in the country. The facility will bring new levels of service to the country and neighboring region by reducing delivery times on orders to dynamically support business growth. Nokia Siemens Networks hub will also support the country's ICT growth targets.

Says Bapak Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Nuh, DEA, Communication and Information Minister, Indonesia, "As the fourth most populous nation globally, we are committed to generating better growth opportunities by driving ICT development. An initiative such as this will help us meet our targets that much quicker. We welcome this project and look forward to working closely with Nokia Siemens Networks."

"We have been deploying and operating networks in Indonesia for over 20 years, and have witnessed the rapid transformation of the country's ICT industry during that time," said Christian Fredrikson, Head of APAC, Nokia Siemens Networks. "Today, we are pleased to announce that we are once again matching our belief in the country's growth potential with concrete plans that support our customers in the region, while improving local ICT skills and growing the industry."

The hub in Indonesia will mark Nokia Siemens Networks' first such facility within the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN). With the specific objective of supporting volume business in the country and meeting customers' demand for quicker time to market, the hub will enable Nokia Siemens Networks to expand its mobile and fixed networks capabilities in the country and neighboring region.

"Working with all the major operators in the country, it has become imperative that we build closer ties to them in order to facilitate their growth plans," said Arjun Trivedi, Head of Indonesia, Nokia Siemens Networks. "The hub will allow us to slash delivery times, improving service and customer satisfaction by leaps and bounds."

Nokia Siemens Networks currently has seven equipment hubs worldwide - in Brazil, China, Dubai, India, Italy, the Netherlands and the US. The hubs function autonomously as their primary objective is to support business in region. However, as part of the company's global supply chain, they can also be leveraged to aid other hubs as and when the need arises.
