Nordic Edge launches secure access management solution for Google Apps

Pressmeddelande   •   Apr 24, 2009 16:16 CEST

An increasing number of companies and organisations are moving their applications to Google Apps as more and more businesses are recognizing the advantages of "cloud computing". Protecting business-critical information that is located in the "cloud" requires secure log-in procedures to manage user access but businesses also need to be able to manage user information quickly and efficiently. Opacus from Nordic Edge is a complete concept that has been specifically designed for Google Apps in order to meet these challenges.

"The potential opportunities in cloud computing are becoming more widely recognized but organisations also need to acknowledge the importance of information security in this new environment and take appropriate steps to protect sensitive information. Our new Opacus solution provides secure user authentication for services on Google Apps, and also provides an easy-to-use user administration that will save companies time and money", says Jim Carlsson, CEO at Nordic Edge.

With Opacus, users can log in securely using a log-in method of their choice, e.g. a certificate, a hardware/software token, mobile client or a one-time password that is sent to their cell phone. Nordic Edge can also provide strong authentication for smaller companies without an infrastructure of their own. Opacus also simplifies and automates user management with a central user administration. Changes only need to be made in one single location and the information is updated both locally and at Google Apps. Opacus can mass-migrate user accounts from the internal system to Google Apps.
