In 2011, BATIMAT once again welcomed the movers and shakers of construction and confirmed its international dimension
BATIMAT 2011, the international building exhibition, achieved strong growth in such key visitor categories as decision makers and specifiers and contractors/tradesmen. Despite a 7.5% overall fall in visitor numbers compared with 2009, which was particularly marked at the end of the week because of Armistice Day on 11th November, BATIMAT still attracted 351,748 visitors, including many from outside France, who were present in force right from the show’s opening.
BATIMAT achieved excellent, double digit growth in its two target visitor categories : project managers (architects, design offices...) and contractors / tradesmen.
The fall in the number of ‘merchants’ was due, on the one hand, to increasing concentration in the sector and, on the other hand, to the fact that only large buyers visited the show.
This year, France accounted for 81% of the 351,748 trade visitors to the 28th Batimat. This was a fall of 11%. 62% of French visitors came from the provinces and 38% from Ile-de-France, the same split as in 2009.
BATIMAT 2011 confirms its international dimension
Foreign visitors accounted for 19% of the total, and were 10% up compared with the 2009 show. There was a larger presence of visitors from Brazil, country of the year, Germany and Russia. Visitor levels from the European Union remained stable.
Numbers from North Africa, always a source of loyal Batimat visitors, held up despite the Aïd El Kebir festivities at the start of the show.
The next BATIMAT will run from 4th to 9th November 2013. See you then.
