openhack engage 100 of tech volunteers to solve humanitarian challenges

Openhack Stockholm 2019 hackathon is taking place this weekend 1-3rd  November. Gathering 100 hackers, females and males, developers and non-tech professional to code for the sake of humanity. This is a special anniversary as it is the community´s 10th kind a hackathon in openhack´s history in Sweden.

“We want to celebrate it with openness, inclusion and diversity”. Says the Project Manager of the event, Monika Lionaite The project team consists of diverse personalities with everyone´s interest in the topics of open source.

This time the developers will work on 6 different cases provided by case contributors; Redcross, Sida, UNCHR, Engineers without borders, Arbestsförmedlingen and Naturvårdsverket.

All cases are based on real-life challenges which are encouraged to be solved to reach a sustainable development goal. Topics that will be solved will include environmental impact, corruption, human rights violation, crises management, fake news and more.
