Sápmi Awards- The nominations for the first Sápmi Awards in history have begun.

This is to be decided. The nominations for the four categories in the Sámi nobel festival Sápmi Awards has begun. The public decides who will be nominated.

On the 7th of May the candidates are presented – the total number of votes by public and by the jury will decide who will proceed to final.

Before this year’s premiere of the Sápmi Awards, young reindeer herders and musician will be honoured.


An exciting final is awaiting and there the finalists will show their cooking skills, present their music, handicraft or design and their skills in reindeer herding. The event will be held in Jokkmokk the 15th-16th of June. The big festival will be the final of a weeklong event in Jokkmokk that will start on the 6th of June with a lot of events and activities.

Four winners go home with 100 000 SEK each and the other finalist with a few thousands each.  

Now is the time to choose the candidates for Nuorra boazodoalli, Biebmu lea Eallin, Duodji, dáidda ja hábmen and Dávástus Dálvvádisas. 

The nominations are open until the 15th of April. The nomination and presentation of the candidates are held online on the website: www.sapmiawards.se
