Serbian Swedish Business Council is a non-profit membership organization founded in March 2014 in Stockholm. It was established with support of the Embassy of Republic of Serbia in Sweden. The aim of the Council is to act as an effective platform whereby members of both the Swedish and Serbian business community should have the opportunity to meet and openly discuss business of mutual interests. Our goal is to bring together the best of Serbia and Sweden in enduring, sustainable win-win partnerships.
Stockholm Group was founded in order to develop, assist and promote Swedish cleantech, transportation and energy technologies worldwide while meeting the expectations of government entities as well as corporations. The mission is to advice, promote innovations, stimulate trade, find investors and match global demands with Swedish solutions.
Serbia’s significant potential lies in areas of environmental protection such as waste management, water management and renewable energy and it is far from being exploited. The national strategies for sustainable environmental management are in place; however, the uncertain factor in implementing these strategies is lack of technologies, skills and knowledge. On the other side, in Sweden, there are many innovative environmental technology companies developing and offering solutions for waste management, renewable energy production, water purification, and other environmentally preferable products.
“We believe that in the collaboration with Stockholm Group we will be able to achieve a greater echo in business networks for medium-sized environmental technology companies that would like to explore the new possibilities to transfer or export their unique solutions to Serbia”, says Jovanka Miljevic, CEO of the Serbian Swedish Business Council.
This collaboration involves many new exciting high-growth opportunities for the Swedish green-tech companies along with the possibility to apply for partial funding of the investment project at Swedfund or at Tillväxtverket through its Demo Miljö program.
“The Balkan market is an important growth market for Swedish companies and Serbia is a natural business hub for business in the Balkans as it is perfectly located between Central and Southeast Europe. Serbia is also an EU membership candidate currently negotiating its EU accession and when that will be approved even more business opportunities will open. We already know of several interesting sustainable business opportunities in Serbia and look forward working with the Serbian Swedish Business Council to develop more sustainable business between Sweden and Serbia”, Joachim Davidssson, CEO Stockholm Group.
Both organizations have agreed on their first promotional event that will be held in late autumn 2016.
