Stromberg and Boniek back Portugal to qualify

Pressmeddelande   •   Nov 10, 2011 15:37 CET

LONDON. Portugal will come back with a draw from Bosnia-Herzegovina in the first leg of their Euro 2012 play-off and qualify in front of their home fans on Tuesday, according to Expekt.com ambassadors Glenn Stromberg and Zibi Boniek.

Former Benfica and Atalanta legend Glenn Stromberg, player of the year in Sweden 1985, has backed Portugal to come through the tricky tie against Edin Dzeko’s Bosnia but he believes they will have to settle for a draw in the first leg.

He told Expekt.com:It’s always a good atmosphere when Bosnia play at home and the fans are really fanatic. Portugal is a team with a lot of experience but it will be a tight game. I will put my money on the draw.”

Stromberg has picked 1-1 as the score and that score line is six times the money with Expekt.

Former Polish international Zibi Boniek has also picked Portugal to reach Poland and Ukraine but not after a hard fought draw, which is 3.15 times the money.

Boniek said: “For Portugal individuals like Cristiano Ronaldo will make a massive difference. Even when they are not playing great as a team they will win and qualify because of the quality of their big match players.”

However Stromberg and Boniek disagree on the outcome of Czech Republic v Montenegro.

Former Swedish international Stromberg has backed Montenegro to qualify at 2.50 times the money, while Boniek believes Czech Republic will seal qualification to next summer’s finals.

Elsewhere in the Euro 2012 play-offs, Ireland are firm favourites to overcome Estonia at 1.36 while Croatia against Turkey is the closest battle of all four matches with Croatia priced at 1.68 and Turkey currently are 2.10 to reach Poland and Ukraine next summer.

Expekt.com Ambassadors Glenn Stromberg and Zibi Boniek have also picked out a double for the first legs of the Euro 2012 play-offs.

Stromberg has picked Portugal and Bosnia to draw and paired it with a Czech Republic win. This pays 5.35 with Expekt.

Boniek has picked two draws in the matches between Portugal and Bosnia and Czech Republic v Montenegro. This double pays a massive 10.40 times the money at Expekt.com.

Glenn Stromberg’s Euro 2012 Play-off 1st Leg Tips:

Bosnia-Herzegovina v Portugal  3.35  3.15  2.15

Correct Score: 1-1 (6.00)

To Qualify: Portugal (1.40)

Glenn says: “It’s always a good atmosphere when Bosnia play at home and the fans are really fanatic. Portugal is a team with a lot of experience and it will be a tight game. But the four big names return to the Portuguese side while Bosnia have problems at the back. I will put my money on the draw.”

Czech Republic v Montenegro 1.70  3.30  5.30

Correct Score: 1-0 (6.00)

To Qualify: Montenegro (2.50)

Glenn says: “Montenegro is not a good team away from home and is not expected to win the first leg. Czech Republic do not have a super squad right now and Petr Cech is doubto play. I think that home soil will be decisive in Friday’s game but Montenegro will qualify in the end.”

Stromberg’s First Leg Double:  Bosnia v Portugal X, Czech Republic v Montenegro 1 (Double Odds – 5.35)

Zibi Boniek’s Euro 2012 Play-off 1st Leg Tips:

Czech Republic v Montenegro 1.70  3.30  5.30

Correct Score: 1-1 (6.50)

To Qualify: Czech Republic (1.50)

Boniek says: “Czech Republic will draw first match. The game will be more less to know what kind of strenght and capabilities are on both sides. The second match Czech republic will win as they are stronger as a team and in this kind of games when the individuals are more less at the same level, team playing will be the factor which will give a final advantage for the Czech Republic.”
