Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima, president of Suzuki Sport, is very positive about the company’s WRC debut at Rally de France in October. In an interview he recently underlined the teams strong starting position: “Although we are newcomers we aim for the podium,” Tajima said. “The car is very easy to drive, has a fantastically strong body, exactly the right size and shows a perfect balance. It definitely has the potential to become one of the best World Rally cars.”
Meanwhile another Suzuki success story comes to an end: 2007 will be the last season for the two FIA Juniors works teams. As of next year Suzuki Sport will solely focus on WRC. Nevertheless the outperforming Swift Super 1600 will still be manufactured by Suzuki Sport Europe in Hungary and can be obtained via the Suzuki subsidiaries or distributors.
