Zara opens its first outlet in Sweden in the city centre of Stockholm

This week, Zara has also opened its first outlet in Ljubljana, Slovenia

Today in Sweden, the first outlet of the Zara chain has opened its doors to the public at Hamngatan Street, one of the city’s main thoroughfares located in the central area of Stockholm. The shop, which has a surface of more than 1,600 m², marks the introduction of Zara to the Swedish market. In addition, the opening of the first Zara shop in Ljubljana, Slovenia also took place this week.

The new Zara outlet in Stockholm represents a step forward in the expansion of Inditex in the markets of Northern Europe, where shops have already been opened in Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Inditex has been present in the Swedish market since 1994 through its Massimo Dutti chain, which has two outlets in the Scandinavian country and one in Oslo, Norway.

With these openings, Inditex raises to 47 the number of countries where it has some of its 1,700 outlets. During 2003, first openings in Russia and Malaysia have also taken place.
