BASF's uppköp av Chemetall slutfört
Ludwigshafen, Germany – December 14, 2016 – BASF har slutfört uppköpet av Chemetall, Albemarles globala verksamhet för ytbehandling. Härmed expanderar BASF’s Coatings division sin portfölj för att bli en mer komplett leverantör av lösningar.
BASF kombinerar sin kompetens inom kemi- och coatings-applikationer med Chemetalls marknadsledande expertis inom ytbehandling. De kombinerande verksamheterna kommer att dra fördel av vandras globala infrastruktur, storlek och tillgång till marknaden och skapa nya tillväxtmöjligheter genom att erbjuda kompletterande kompetens till kunderna.

Genom att kombinera expertisen och innovationskraften från två globala marknadsledare kan vi accelerera vårt innovationsarbete och göra våra kunder ännu mer framgångsrika,” säger Markus Kamieth, ansvarig för BASF’s Coatings division.
Chemetall utvecklar kundanpassad teknologi och systemlösningar för ytbehandling. Deras produkter skyddar metall från korrosion, underlättar formning och bearbetning, möjliggör optimal förberedelse av delar inför målningsprocessen och säkerställer ordentlig vidhäftning av beläggningen. Dessa kemikalier används inom en rad olika industrier och slutmarknader så som fordons- och flygindustrin och för aluminium- och metallbearbetning. Chemetall’s försäljning för hela kalenderåret 2015 uppgick till US$845 miljoner.
För att förbereda för integrationen har BASF etablerat ett globalt integrationsteam, med uppgift att säkerställa fortsatt verksamhet med prioritet på att möta kundernas behov.
