International (Indian) students honored with best thesis scholarship grants in Sweden

Three International master students from India shared best thesis scholarship grants worth 75 000 SEK from the foundation "Sparbanksstiftelsen Kronan" established by SWEDBANK. The foundation awarded scholarship grants for encouraging the students who made a significant thesis work that is both socially beneficial and inclined towards the development of the region. These grants were handed over to the selected students during a special ceremony which was held on 19th November 2010 at Blekinge Institute of Technology, BTH. The foundation president Tommy Lindgren" presented the grants to the recipients in the presence of Dr. Ursula Hass, Vice Chancellor, BTH.

The grants were awarded to 46 students, or 26 theses in total from BTH, Linnaeus University and the University of Halmstad ( who shared for a total 775 000 SEK. One, of 25 000 SEK, went to the 21 theses of which five made by students from BTH. The second grant is for 50 000 kronor and were distributed to five theses, including one from BTH.)

Firstly, the thesis works of high academic standards from each university are nominated to the foundation. Then foundation's own jury selected scholarships grants, based on foundation regulations.

Vinjarapu Sai Krishna Dinesh and Vishal Kondabathini, both from Andhra Pradesh India shared 50 000 SEK for their thesis work, which they had developed a test system that facilitates the manufacture of a tele- manipulator, which enables students worldwide to connect to the BTH laboratory for electronic experiments. Another student, Anbarasan Thamizharasan, from Tamil Nadu, India shared 25000 SEK.
