New online course brings basic sustainability knowledge to people in an entertaining way.

CARD.COOP announced today the release of the e-Course “The Ecosystem and the Human Being”, a new concept in online learning where anyone interested in knowing what sustainability is all about, can learn the basics of it in a fun and easy way.

The course has been carefully prepared by the Swedish author Torbjörn Lahti, one of the world leading pioneers in eco-municipalities with over 20 years of experience in sustainable development. Therefore, participants can be certain that the knowledge they acquire is professional and cutting-edge.

Entrance door to sustainability
“The Ecosystem and the Human Being” e-Course explains the basics of sustainability in two parts: in the first one, the earth is explored as a system to learn the root causes of the unsustainable development we are experiencing globally today. The basic natural laws that we humans need to understand in order to redesign our activities towards sustainability, are explained.

The second part describes “The Four System Conditions” that are scientifically based. Knowing the fundamental mechanisms we humans use to destroy nature, thereby creating an unsustainable development, gives us the system conditions that will guide us towards creating an ecologically sustainable society. Also, knowing the basic human needs we all share, gives us another system condition that will guide us towards a socially sustainable society.

The author hopes that at the end of the course, participants feel more comfortable with what sustainability is and that they start taking steps in the direction towards the long-term vision of a sustainable human society.

Innovative e-Course concept
This new e-Course concept by CARD.COOP includes the access to a forum to ask and answer questions or discuss relevant topics, a great opportunity for participants to share their knowledge and experiences.

This is an engaging on-going learning experience where participants can study at their own pace, revisit the e-Course, do the quizzes and a final test for a period of time of six months after signing up. The participant will be able to download a certificate of achievement stating the amount of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) he or she has studied. It is a way of demonstrating employers or interested parties the knowledge acquired.

Spreading the knowledge
CARD.COOP aims to spread such extremely important basic knowledge of ecological and social sustainability all over the world by reasonably pricing this e-Course. Participants will pay less than what they would pay for an entrance ticket to the movie theater in their country. This e-Course is in English, but the following versions will come in other languages: Swedish, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish and French.
