Cranab is launching a completely new programme for truck cranes

The Swedish manufacturer Cranab is premièring its first crane series in a completely new crane programme for trucks, before an international audience at the world's largest building and construction exhibition, Bauma, in Munich on April 11-17.

The model TZ12 crane to be launched at Bauma is a 12 tonne-metre crane and the first in a series of manufactured cranes comprising a complete programme of truck cranes for forestry and recycling that will be presented over the coming years.

- "There is an enormous need for modern, reliable and effective truck cranes on the global market. That we, as one the world's leading crane manufacturers of forestry machines, are broadening our truck programme is an entirely natural development," says Micael Olsson, Marketing Manager.

Extensive truck crane experience
It is not the first time Cranab manufactures truck cranes. About 15 years ago, following an owner directive, the company terminated its production of that generation's truck cranes and instead chose to focus on cranes for forwarders and harvesters.
Thus, Cranab has extensive experience in the production of truck cranes, which they are now using to their advantage.

- "As we have previous competence with truck cranes and major experience with forestry cranes, we are able to optimise our new program right from the start. We simply use the best of both worlds and can successfully combine, for example, strength, performance and constructional solutions. This benefits our customers and users in the best possible way, from the very beginning," emphasises Micael Olsson.

The first crane is a popular Z crane
First out in the new truck programme is the TZ12, a Z crane for a wide customer group on an international market. The TZ12 is a medium sized model and will be complemented with both larger and smaller models.
Besides the Z crane, there will also be an L crane in several sizes in the programme. The L crane will be user tested as a prototype before the summer, with sales set to begin before year-end.
TZ12 sales will start at Bauma with the first deliveries occurring in June.

Cranes with great capacity and driving pleasure
Truck cranes target the professional sector for trucks in forestry and recycling. The developmental emphasis has been on low weight and high performance. The result is that the user will get a strong, robust and efficient crane with low weight, high performance and low power loss.

Unique 10.5 metre range
A new construction solution for the crane's outer and main booms gives the crane a much longer range. Thanks to the outer boom being completely straight, there is room for longer booms, which provide a much better telescoping effect that results in an increased range.
Therefore, the TZ12 will be sold with either a 9.3 or 10.5 metre length, making Cranab one of the few suppliers to be able to make this offer.

One of the advantages of the crane is completely protected routing of the hoses, pipes and cables, which makes it a highly reliable solution requiring only minimal servicing and having low maintenance costs.

The first crane will be delivered with an open cab and a 2+2 control, which means 2 combination joysticks and 2 foot pedals. The programme will also include alternative operator positions such as different cabs and controls.

The crane's construction provides a smooth and responsive ride thanks to optimised hydraulics. The crane's geometry provides power, strength and a harmonious driving experience over the whole work area. The truck cranes are also equipped with the same strong and robust slewing engine found in the forestry cranes.

A new generation of users is waiting
- It is a great pleasure to be back in the truck market again. Several users of our previous generation of truck cranes have contacted us and shown great interest. We also hope to get a whole new generation of operators that we will continue to satisfy with our new programme," says Micael Olsson.
