9th Bohemia Jazz Fest in 9 Czech regions

A Czech proverb says: “Inside each Czech is a musician” and there is definitely something to it because Czechs are great jazz fans. Are you planning to visit the Czech Republic? Mix your trip to historical monuments and food experiences with the sound of Bohemia Jazz Fest.

Plzeň, Domažlice, Tábor, Liberec, Olomouc, Brno, Zlín, Prachatice, Praha, - these are the cities where the summer jazz festival takes place. Bohemia Jazz Fest makes the historical squares dance in nine Czech towns from 10^th to 20^th July.

In the past eight years, Bohemia Jazz Festival has become one of the biggest jazz festivals in Europe with entrance for free. The festival, which extraordinarily combines first-class music and great sceneries on historical squares in Bohemia, attracts the attention of about 80 thousand visitors every year.

Jazz stars from twelve countries come to the Czech Republic to perform jazz, blues, funk and world music.

The 9^th festival introduces two of the best jazz groups from the United States – the Terence Blanchard Quintet and Medeski, Martin & Wood. The most recent American sensation, jazz singer Cécile McLorin Salvant, joins two leading European singers: Sinne Eeg from Denmark and Karin Krog from Norway.

A special programme is prepared for 11^th July in Prague – Luboš Andršt, the veteran of Czech blues guitar, plans a jam session with the founder and art director of Bohemia Jazz Fest, Rudy Linka. They already played together last year in Tábor and the remarkable performance is still in the heads of blues and jazz fans. Both Andršt and Linka are looking forward to their guitar performance this year in Prague.
