DreamHack Renews Partnership with Twitch

DreamHack is proud to renew its broadcast partnership with Twitch, the world’s leading social video platform and community for gamers, to bring high-end esports content to millions of viewers around the globe. Twitch will be the exclusive English language broadcaster of both DreamHack Open and ASUS ROG DreamLeague this year, alongside a lot of other esports content produced by DreamHack.

DreamHack was one of the first esports partners to embrace Twitch, including working with Justin.tv, Twitch’s predecessor. As one of the pioneers, DreamHack used Justin.tv as the official broadcast platform for their esports tournaments back at DreamHack Winter 2009. By renewing the partnership with Twitch, it commemorates a six-year-long partnership with the live streaming platform. The partnership has been extremely successful with DreamHack’s two largest festivals—DreamHack Summer and DreamHack Winter—being two of the most viewed events on Twitch annually.

“We’re thrilled to continue having Twitch as one of our closest allies,” said Marcus Lindmark, CEO of DreamHack AB, Sweden. “2015 will be a fantastic year for DreamHack since we will be introducing many new events, tournaments and formats, all with a live streamed presence on Twitch.”

"DreamHack is an epic event that has amassed an incredible following among the Twitch community," said Stuart Saw, Regional Director, EMEA, Twitch. "Our longstanding partnership is indicative of the appeal of live video game content and testament to the tight bonds we share with our broadcasting partners. It has been a great six years and we look forward to continue working with this iconic festival."

At DreamHack Summer 13-16 June, professional esports players will have the chance to meet Twitch as they host another edition of the popular Twitch Player Lounge. The lounge is where competing players can relax between tournament matches.
