Swedish Michelin chef co-develops Caliente’s new flavors

The beverage startup Caliente is proud to announce a collaboration with Sweden’s first female Michelin chef, Titti Qvarnström, for the development of 1-2 new flavor versions to be released summer 2016.

- We are so excited, Marketing Director Erika Ollén says. Working with Titti is amazing, and it will give both continued edge to the brand and interesting and challenging drinks as a result.

Caliente was launched one year ago, as a social drink for people who want a fun option without alcohol – one that doesn’t compromise on taste, health or the environment. Soon, it was evident that many enjoy Caliente paired with food. The uniqueness of the drinks comes from added chili heat. And when enjoyed with food, the heat gives a similar sensation to that of alcohol.

Titti Qvarnström normally houses at Bloom in the Park in Malmö – a restaurant serving innovative food with a local twist. It was one of a handful Swedish restaurants awarded a star, when the Michelin guide opened up for visits to places outside Stockholm.

- Caliente attracted me since it’s a tasty drink with character, and because it isn’t sweet. Without being a me-too product, it can actually complement dishes, replacing alcoholic beverages in a way that few other non-alcoholic options do, says Titti Qvarnström.

The ongoing collaboration is one more step towards offering the best non-alcoholic drink around, for any occasion. The new versions will, just like before, be tasty on their own, but at the same time be a even better food match.

The reasons why people skip alcohol are many, and they vary. With non-alcoholic premium drinks being one of the biggest global drink trends, there is no wonder Caliente has received huge international interest. The collaboration with Titti is also a step towards pointing at Caliente’s Swedish origin. The drinks are produced in Sweden and according to Swedish tradition; transparency and quality are company lead words.

- We are tight-lipped about what the flavors will be, but can say this much: It’s always our aim to continue to surprise consumers, and the new flavors will also have a more prominent Scandinavian touch, though still inspired by the world. This angle goes well in line with what Titti and Bloom in the Park represents.

Caliente is a multiple award-winning and chili-infused juice drink.

It was created as an alternative, for times when you want something fun to drink, but without compromising on taste, health or the nature but need a kick. Because chili triggers the release of endorphins, creating a physical rush.

2015, Caliente won "Best Premium Adult Drink" at World Beverage Innovation Awards as well as "Best New Organic Drink" at Natural & Organic Awards Scandinavia. It is 100 % natural, organic and produced in Småland, Sweden.
