2011-08-22 14:44 The Swedish venture Simplexia develops a novel vaccine protecting against the most common sexually transmitted disease - genital herpes caused by herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). The vaccine has shown promising results in animal studies and Simplexia has now received a pre-seed grant from Novo Seeds, the early stage commercialization program of the Danish Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Forskningen härstammar från Sahlgrenska akademin i Göteborg och det står nu klart att Simplexia beviljas första milstolpen från VINNOVAs program VINN-Verifiering på ca 500 000 SEK. Totalt kan projektet beviljas upp till 2 miljoner SEK.
