Scotty Nguyen: I can’t wait to go back to Europe and win EPT Deauville
2012-01-27 16:54
Poker World Champion Scotty Nguyen prepares to represent Expekt.com at the EPT Deauville where he will join the newly launched Expekt Pro team – read his exclusive column here.
The WSOP in Cannes was such unbelievable event. It was just so good. On the first day I didn’t get any breaks and I took a couple of bad beats going down to 12k. I didn’t get a penny but the next day it went boom boom boom and I got up to like 60k before running into a big hand.
Despite that I love playing in Cannes because the people don’t talk about bad beats; they just talk about the players. The players over in Cannes come to play baby and they make the games fun. They don’t just sit there and wait for a hand; they dance with you and come to the table to play poker. That’s what I like. I enjoyed the main event in Cannes so much, much more than in London. They have crazy players and some of the most exciting players in the world.
It’s the most exciting tournament on the circuit and I can’t wait to come back to France and play in the EPT in Deauville from February 1 and meet up with my team mates in the Expekt Pro Poker team. I tell you more about that when I am in France!
It’s just much more fun to be around in the European tournaments. It’s even fun being around the waiters and waitresses in restaurants! Everyone is so much fun. When I walk into the room you can see and feel the welcome. I’m just disappointed that I got knocked out on the second day in Cannes but I can’t wait to come back.
And you know baby my goal for this year is to be the first player to win the main event in the US and also the main event in Europe. No-one has ever won the WSOP and WSOPE but I’m going to be the first baby! I have now learned the way the Europeans play the game and next you will see baby! In poker you never stop learning. You have to learn the American way and now I have learnt the European way and hopefully I can do dance with them again next year baby.
I’ve still got what it takes to win baby!
I came close to winning at the WSOP Las Vegas but close don’t count baby. You have to win it and every time you come close you throw away two or three day’s hard work out the window baby. Winning the bracelet is the main thing baby and if you don’t come away with it it’s disappointing. When I see Phil Hellmuth with his 12 bracelets and he is walking around all cocky, talking trash and shit, it motivates me to catch him. My dream and goal is to catch up and pass him. I want to make him cry.....just kidding. He is my boy baby.
But above all the one thing about poker baby is that you give your best and put a smile on the fans faces. You know what I am like out there, I give my best and give the fans what they want and that’s entertainment. The welcome and love I get from the fans make me enjoy being me at the table. That’s the reason I love poker.
When you walk into a poker room anywhere in the world you can feel the love from the fans and that’s what motivates me to get better. And when I play I make sure I play a good game and give the fans something good to watch. They’ve come to see Scotty Nguyen in action so I have to put on a show; you know what I mean baby. But you know how poker is, it doesn’t matter how good you play because you can get dropped in one hand and that’s two or three days work gone. That’s poker baby. Things will turn around for me and they cannot keep getting lucky on me. Time will turn around and you will see Scotty still has it baby!
My thumbs up - Expekt player Tomas ‘Mitchelll’ Mitell
I need to give a big shout out to my fellow Expekt player Tomas Mitell for taking down the IPOPS live event in Prague in December. He turned his $100 investment into a win of over $90k proving once again that Expekt Poker has the most skilful players around. Well played baby!
My Promotion
I love the Expekt Poker promotions. Expekt is the place to be for poker players of all skill levels baby!
It’s good that players who are learning the game should be given a chance to win a prize as well as the more experienced players. That’s why the beginner’s race on Expekt is my favourite at the moment. Learn the game at the low stakes, baby CLICK HERE!
