PRESS RELEASE BREAKING NEWS: G2A BATTLES RIOT FOR E-SPORTS RIGHTS TO GROW!

G2A.COM would like to hear from e-sports fans the world over directly concerning the sudden heavy handed and potentially damaging behavior of US based company, Riot who launched an aggressive attack directed towards the entire global e-sports community in a failed attempt to dominate and control the industry. G2A has invested over $6 million in e-sport sponsorship since 2014.

We regret to advise our valued e-sports partners, players and fans that on Friday the 18th of September 2015 at 6.31pm CEST, G2A received an email from the Riot Developer Relations Manager in the United States. This email brought news that has the ability to impact negatively on e-sporters, especially during this fabulous time when hopes are so high for great e-sports events.

The e-mail came afterG2A tried many friendly waysto meet with Riot, to try and work with them so as not to spoil things for e-sporters; to find a win-win solution.We tried to give them what they wanted, we suspended account selling and Elo Boosting of Accounts, but there were only more and more demands from Riot. No positive answer to several propositions of how to empower the e-sport industry together, in favor of gamers. Riot even asked G2A to remove helpful tools for players such as game guides.

The Riot Developer Relations Manager’s e-mail says, in part: “I can find no other option than to officially instruct our League Operations team to revoke G2A's approval as an official sponsor for LCS teams”. He goes on to say: “This decision, however, is final as regards G2A visual sponsorship at Worlds 2015”. So this is Riot’s final word and it is so unfair for the e-sport community worldwide.

“G2A wants you to know that we will open communications on social media channels including Facebook page: g2aesportbreakingnews, if e-sporters need totalk to usabout the impact this behavior will have on them and others. “Tell us your feelings, and we will try in whatever way we can to make things better”, said G2A e-sport Manager, Josh Cabrera. He added: “That’s our G2A promise to all the entire e-sports community. We hope that we can count on your support for G2A. Together, G2A and e-esporters can build e-sports into something awesome!
