Winner of National Instruments yearly "NI Graphical Systems Design Awards" in Sweden 2011

The motivation for Medfields case:  "With the Graphical System Design Awards, National Instruments aims to recognize the use of NI technology and a graphical system design approach to develop solutions to critical engineering and science challenges. Of all the applications that were submitted in Sweden, the Microwave Diagnostics system developed by Medfield Diagnostics demonstrated the most innovative use of our platform, and is an excellent example of how a team of specialists, in a domain like medical devices, can move from an idea to implementation really fast."

About Medfield Diagnostics

Medfield Diagnostics is a medical device company commercializing microwave technology for safer diagnostics in the health care business.

The microwave diagnostic technology can monitor changes and generate images of tissue in the human body. There are many areas where the technology can be valuable, from detecting bleedings and tumors to internal temperature measurements. Microwave diagnostic instruments can be compact compared to other diagnostic techniques, thus making it possible to implement them earlier in the healthcare chain, in emergency room and in ambulances enabling diagnosis in the acute phase.

Medfield's first product, Strokefinder R10, is an instrument for researchers within stroke and neurological research. It is versatile and can be used both for snapshot measurements to differentiate between ischemic (blood clot) and hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in brain tissue) as well as to monitor changes over time. 

Om Medfield Diagnostics

Medfield utvecklar mikrovågsbaserade diagnostikinstrument för vården. Bolaget är sprunget ur mångårig forskning på Chalmers Tekniska Högskola. Första produkten är ett instrument som skall skilja blödning från propp vid stroke, där en snabb diagnos möjliggör effektivare behandling i det akuta skedet.
