Gynius AB Wins this year’s "Crossing of Boundaries Award" on the 33-List
Stockholm, Sweden — April 12, 2016 — Gynius is one of this year’s winner on the 33-List award being a company with clear innovation and products that holds great international potential – A company developing and selling an innovation that has the potential to be a game changer in the medical technology industry. Gynius also won this year’s Crossing of Boundaries award. The price was handed today to Gynius Medical Director Elisabeth Wikströn Shemer at the ceremony at Münchenbryggeriet, in Stockholm, Sweden.
Gynius believe that every woman deserves the right to a high quality examination and that this goal is achievable by making women’s health care affordable, simple and accessible.
Gynius inventor and medical director Dr Elisabeth Wikström Shemer developed the first truly portable colposcope “The GynocularTM” and in 2009 she started Gynius AB together with Isaac Shemer and Matthew Volsky. Gynius has during the last years helped to change the way colposcopy and examinations are done, documented, shared and developed to setting new standards.

The Software developed by Gynius allows devices such as Android and iPhone into powerful tools for medical documentation and examination. The Software allows doctors, gynaecologists, forensic nurses, scientists and other health workers to gather more accurately information from patients anywhere in the world using the secure and user friendly cloud based software together with the gynocular.

33 list is based on nominations by companies from all over Sweden and the winners are appointed jointly by the editorial staff of the New Technology and Business World. The jury looks for companies with a unique product or service based around a clear innovation with great international potential – an innovation that has the potential to change the rules of the game in their industry. To make it on the list must now be based in Sweden and founded the earliest in 2009.
