SSE increases its engagement with Chinese partners and universities

SSE aims to lift its international position within business, economics and law by offering educational opportunities to potential students. We have recently had several opportunities to interact with various Chinese partners and universities.

On June 15th, SSE received a visit by the Chinese Embassy in Stockholm to discuss various educational opportunities related to our engagement in China. This was the first visit to SSE by Mr. Chunxiang Dou, Counsellor (Education), Mr. Quan, Student Affairs, and Mr. Han Jing, Second Secretary Education. Ms. Meng Chen, an SSE Alum (MSc Finance & Accounting), also joined the meeting.

On June 20th, SSE hosted another visit from a large delegation from the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in Beijing, China. This is school was founded in 2002, but has already 3,000 alumni, many whose companies accounted for 1/6th of China’s total GDP in 2015.

With nearly 40 percent of SSE’s Master’s students coming from outside of Sweden, SSE is able to provide an international learning experience, critical for when our students enter the global workforce. SSE’s goal is that 50 percent of our Master’s students will have an international background in the next few years, and China offers an interesting arena for reciprocal educational opportunities.

SSE currently works with three Chinese Universities, and several of our students have already studied in China as part of a reciprocal student exchange program through PIM at Fudan University, School of Management, Shanghai and through the CEMS Program at Tsinghua University, School of Economics and Management, Beijing and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, School of Business, Hong Kong.
