Sara Rosengren winner of the Corporate Partners Research Award 2014

Sara Rosengren, Associate Professor of Marketing at the Stockholm School of Economics, was awarded the Corporate Partners Research Award 2014 at the Corporate Partners Annual Meeting on November 19. The prizewinner received a grant of 100 000 SEK and was presented by Carl-Johan Bonnier, Chairman of Bonnier AB.

The 2014 year’s recipient Sara Rosengren is known for her superior academic record and strong commitment to both research and teaching. Sara Rosengren's research has been published in leading international academic journals, such as the Journal of Advertising and the Journal of Advertising Research, and it has generated a significant number of citations by other researchers.

The Corporate Partners Research Award was established in 2003 to further enhance research at SSE. The award is given to a promising researcher who is successful in his or her area of research and has contributed to the development of knowledge within their discipline.

Sara Rosengren is an Associate Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics and a board member of the European Advertising Academy. Her research shows that advertising influences company success not only among customers, but also among employees and investors.

“Companies need to factor in more than just brand and sales effects to fully capitalize on their advertising investments,” says Sara Rosengren.

The Swedish Volvo Cars campaign featuring soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be used to illustrate this point. In addition to getting consumers interested, it has led to an internal boost and revitalized interest in Volvo among key stakeholders such as business partners and the media.

“Our research on advertising equity helps explain how and why popular advertising such as Volvo’s Zlatan-campaign creates long-term business benefits,” Sara Rosengren explained.
