HiNation appoints new CEO
HiNation AB has appointed Kristina Linhardt as the new CEO of the company, starting Wednesday 15th of October 2014. "I appreciate the confidence and look forward to the challenge. We have a clear strategy and a focus on increased profitability with customers as partners" says Kristina Linhardt.
The new leadership will strengthen an interesting business opportunity. It is not just a business opportunity, but also a fantastic chance to create a new product for large groups of people who live beyond reach of electricity; a source of energy that will be used while waiting for the network to be extended and within reach of these groups. This may in some areas take 20-30 years and in other areas longer.
HiNation AB is a cleantech company that manufactures solar products. The product HiLight - one of HiNation’s products- provides bright light and is a source of energy for rural areas in many African countries where there is no electricity grid. HiLights can charge <10 cell phones, run several lights, a small fan, an Internet router etc. and have shown to increase efficiency in the agricultural sector, such as in chicken and egg production, milk production and much more.
In the work in Africa, HiNation has found that scarce resources limit the locals’ ability to purchase energy products. “Therefore, we want to develop a product that can meet the needs of these groups, but also to adapt it to their financial abilities” says Kristina Linhardt. Additionally she says that "LED technology is central to our future work. By using less solar energy when producing light, there are more energy left for other charging abilities. Our goal is to develop products that suit large groups in rural areas of Africa and other areas with similar conditions”.
Kristina Linhardt continues and says, "The international market has plenty of challenges and becomes more and more competitive. I assess the conditions as very good for continued international expansion for HiNation”.
Linda Krondahl says that "This solution is very good. Kristina has worked in the company since its inception. She has extensive experience in Africa and is the person who has built the current projects. I will continue to have an active ownership role in the company, while HiNation gets a new CEO who is well rooted in our company”.
Kristina mentions that HiNation will be reinforced with two non-executive directors to stimulate business development.
