Hogia ties up at the Scottish west coast

Scottish David MacBrayne Ltd (DML) has awarded Worldline, the European leader in the payments and transactional services industry, and Hogia Ferry Systems a contract to provide a modern integrated booking and ticketing system to the multi-award-winning ferry operator CalMac Ferries Ltd and Argyll Ferries Ltd, serving the Clyde and Hebrides. With almost 5 million passengers per year served by a fleet of over 30 ships to 27 destinations, CalMac Ferries is one of the largest domestic ferry operator in Europe.

Niclas Blomstrom, Managing Director at Hogia Ferry Systems says “We are proud to have been selected by Atos and their subsidiary Worldline to be a strategic partner and increasingly so when we were awarded the contract by DML after a very thorough tender process. In this highly competitive market, this confirms that our BOOKIT software is top ranked and that Hogia is an appreciated provider of high quality and reliable standard IT systems.”

The work has begun and the implementation project will continue well into 2015.

“Our flexible reservation and ticketing platform together with Worldlines’ experience in delivering cutting-edge solutions for complex operations is a strong combination to elevate the ferry service on the Scottish west coast to a new level. We are excited for the opportunity to contribute to an improved experience for everybody travelling with the ferries”, says Niclas.

Hogia Ferry Systems product BOOKIT is also being used on the ferries serving the Shetland Islands and the Orkney Islands.
