Unique cover for every reader - the surprise of the next issue of CAP&Design2011-10-19 10:00
The next issue of CAP&Design will push the limits for print media. Each copy of our edition of 11,003 issues will feature a unique cover. Because of this, every reader can pick a favorite cover among all copies in the newsstands and purchase the one of their choice.
At CAP&Design, we have a tradition of experimenting with design, print and paper, because our readers, graphic designers and creative professionals, appreciate playfulness and innovative design. With CAP&Design, no. 5, we hope that our readers really take advantage of the opportunity to select a favorite among all the covers, says Therese Järnankar, editor-in-chief of CAP&Design.
This is part of our continuing effort to surprise our readers while at the same time demonstrating the possibilities inherent in printing technology.
The creating and printing of 11,003 unique covers was preceded by several month of planning and production. We have an excellent partner in the renowned design agency Vår, which arranged the cover shots. Our printing house Elanders contributed their expertise in printing technology and processes, says Therese Järnankar.
We're hoping that our advertisers will perceive the potential of this technology and rise to the challenge of trying out something similar, for example for the back of a publication. Imagine for example that a photo stock agency selects one specific image for each copy while linking to an activity in social media. That would make print much more flexible than it used to be,? says Joakim Allwin, business director of CAP&Design.
