The P77 has arrived!

The P77 has arrived!

After making its world premier as a prototype during this year’s Milan Furniture Fair, the P77 chair, designed by Jonas Lindvall and produced by Johanson Design is almost ready for production. P77 is unique in terms of manufacturing. Its seat shell is made in two parts: the inner section - the kernel - is molded from talc-reinforced, injected polypropylene, while the outer portion is injection molded on top of the inner core with a thermoplastic elastomer or TPE. The designer came up with this method to create a strong chair with an outer surface that gives it a soft, tactile, comfortable feel.

The starting point of P77 was to create a lightweight, comfortable, durable, stackable armchair. With legs made of aluminum the P77 weighs around 5kg, making it excellent for use both indoors and outdoors, as well as for residential and public spaces alike. P77 will be available in several different colours, including orange, white and black.

Following environmental considerations, P77 is 100% recyclable - without the need for separation of the two separate layers – while its low weight, stackability and local production, using locally produced materials, also contributes to reducing the impact of transport.

P77 is a development project between the designer and Johanson Design, which has been made possible thanks to the help of a number of skilled experts. Large investments of time and capital makes this chair unique in terms of both production process and application. A finished prototype was presented recently at Designers Saturday in Oslo. Full production of the chair is scheduled to commence before the end of the year.
