New products from Kinnarps

Kinnarps will present several new products for Spring 2015. Here is a list of our newcomers, which will be previewed at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, 3-7 February 2015.

CAPELLA – MOVEMENT IN FOCUS

With Kinnarps’ new task chair Capella, sitting is all about movement. The heart of Capella is the newly-developed and innovative FreeMotion™ mechanism, which promotes active sitting through tiny, smart, micro-movements.

Capella has been fitted with Kinnarps’ latest innovation - the next generation FreeFloat™ system, whereby the seat and back move independently of each other, following the natural movement of the user. The new mechanism is called FreeMotion™ and is an entirely new system where tiny, balanced micro-movements in the seat create tiny adjustment, but without the chair feeling unsteady. The task chair has been developed according the principal that sitting down is not about sitting still, which is why the chair encourages the body to move while sitting. It’s all designed to make the body feel as comfortable as possible. The chair’s ease of use and simple setting controls makes Capella the perfect chair to use in activity based environments where it will be used by many different people.

Capella is designed by Johan Larsvall at Idesign, a Swedish design agency based in Stockholm, which has extensive experience of designing for working environments. Johan Larsvall has collaborated with Kinnarps for many years, resulting in several highly successful, ergonomic chairs.

Capella is available in a range of different editions, with sleek white, polished or black metal details. The seat can be upholstered in all fabrics from Kinnarps’ large fabric collection, allowing the chair to be tailored to wide range of personal styles.

Kinnarps launches Capella in Spring 2015.

ENTRADA II – AN UPDATED FAVOURITE

Entrada, which belongs to the Drabert brand, is one of Kinnarps’ most popular task chairs.

We are now proud to present its successor, Entrada II. The chair has been given new, even more user-friendly controls and an updated appearance, tailored for the modern workplace! Entrada II is, with its well-thought ergonomics, shaped to give the best possible comfort. The seat is both height and depth adjustable to give optimal support for back, leg and thighs.

As it is so user-friendly it is ideal in activity based working environments where different people in different types of working environments can easily use it.

Entrada II, like its predecessor, is designed by Daniel Figueroa. The renowned designer has collaborated with Drabert since 1995 and has, through the years, won numerous internationally recognised awards, not least for his office and public environment chairs. Daniel Figueroa has previously designed Kinnarps’ popular task chairs Salida and Esencia.

Kinnarps launches Entrada II in Spring 2015.

NEXUS – A VERSATILE TABLE RANGE

In Kinnarps’ new table range, Nexus, adaptability and multi-functionality are in focus. The personal desk can be changed with simple adaptations, to also work as a shared project space or an accommodating meeting table.

The sober and elegantly designed Nexus is ideal for those looking for a modern table solution. Whether you want a table for individual work or a creative workspace, Nexus’ versatility meets most needs.

The Nexus table range is available as individual desks or as a bench solution. The bench solution allows users to adjust the table to suit their own needs. It can be used as a flexible space for many, where creative ideas emerge, or more private workspaces can be created by fitting screens between the tables. Through simple adjustments, the table can be adapted to suit most working situations. Nexus works constantly to meet the needs of the user!

The benchtops and screen solutions are available in a range of different colours and materials, and are thereby suited to all types of working environments.

Nexus will be launched in Spring 2015.

EMBRACE - AN ACTIVE EMBRACE IN A NEW DESIGN

The Embrace chair family is growing. Kinnarps follows up last year’s successful Embrace chair launch with two new models. The chair is now available with a light and flexible plastic back and also as a useful and stylish bar stool.

There is absolutely no doubt that both newcomers belong to the Embrace family. The gentle curves and smooth geometry, combined with a design that expresses simplicity and durability, are the cornerstones of Embrace’s design. Embrace’s unique expression is the brainchild of the German designer Stefan Brodbeck. His design studio ‘Brodbeck design’ works across a wide spectrum: from office furniture to various types of industrial design. The studio embraces the principal of design based on the needs of human beings. This is a design philosophy that is a perfect match for Kinnarps!

”There is great demand for our existing Embrace chairs, so it is very exciting to be able to reveal this family’s next development step. The new models have been much requested by our clients and it is a delight to be able to unveil the newcomers,” says Pehr Gårlin, International Product Manager for chairs at Kinnarps. The bar stool will be sold with a walnut, oak, beech or birch backrest. The plastic back is available in black or white and can be fitted with all existing underframes.

Embrace will be launched in Spring 2015.

MONROE - A CLASSIC BEAUTY

Kinnarps’ Monroe is a curvaceous and stylish chair that exemplifies how it is possible to combine good seat ergonomics with an interesting design.

”Monroe’s curvature is a playful design that invites people to sit down. At the same time, I have chosen to highlight comfort and ergonomics and given it a narrow waist, a comfortable spring system and soft padding,” says Johan Larsvall from Idesign who designed the chair.

Monroe fits in most situations and working environments; as a meeting chair or a visitor chair, alone or in a group. The chair also offers many options to finding a personal finish. With different underframe variations, with or without armrests, and with Kinnarps’ wide range of unique fabric options, it is possible to adapt Monroe entirely according to inclination and taste.

Monroe is available with an aluminium five-star base (silver lacquered or polished),with a sledge or chrome-plated, black, white or silver four-legged base. In combination with our functional desks and task chairs, Monroe offers a uniform and thought-out environment for creative discussion and active meetings.

Monroe was launched in Autumn 2014 and is already on sale. However it is the first time Monroe will be shown at Stockholm Furniture Fair.
