Official EU presidency event status for Stockholm Cleantech Venture Day

Stockholm Cleantech Venture Day has been awarded official status in association with Swedish EU presidency 2009.

Sweden holds the EU-presidency during the second half of 2009, leading up to the climate conference in Copenhagen in 2010. Stockholm Cleantech Venture Day is one out of 17 events awarded with official status in association with the Swedish EU presidency, where the main theme is climate and energy.

"I am happy that cleantech is on the EU agenda", says Aaron Kaplan, Project Manager for Stockholm Cleantech Business Network. "It opens up a window of opportunity for the entrepreneurs, as investments of new capital to this new industry is vital for a resillient future". "Becoming an official event during the EU-presidency is the highest quality assurance possible for the participating companies, as well as for their potential investors".

Sweden will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union during the second half of 2009. The Swedish Presidency's vision is a strong and effective Europe where focus is on the common responsibility to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow, including preparedness to manage crises. The biggest and most important challenges are the economy, employment and climate - issues that affect each and every citizen of the EU.

Stockholm Cleantech Venture Day 2009 is s organised by Stockholm Cleantech Business Network, Cleantech Scandinavia and Stockholm Innovation & Growth (STING) and presents Scandinavias' leading cleantech investment opportunities for an international audience of investors and decision makers. Main partners are the City of Stockholm, Innovationsbron and Kista Science City.
