KTM MOTOCROSS AND SUPERCROSS TEAMS ARE UNBEATABLE!

Overnight in Minneapolis, USA, Ryan Dungey and Marvin Musquin set the tone by winning both the 450 and 250 Supercross classes. Then at the MX GP of Italy in Arco di Trento Tony Cairoli and Ken De Dycker finished 1-2 in the fourth round of the MX1 World Championships and Jeffrey Herlings and Jordi Tixier repeated the result in MX2.

Pit Beirer, Head of KTM Motorsport: “This weekend we have shown that our factory teams on both sides of the Atlantic truly belong to the world elite in our sport. We're proud of this great achievement and we know that it will continue drive the passion of everyone at KTM who all play a part in this huge success.

Red Bull KTM Factory rider Ryan Dungey did exactly what his hometown fans expected: he chased down points leader Ryan Villopoto and took the win at the H.H.H. Metrodome to earn a standing ovation by the Minneapolis crowd.

“It feels amazing to get a win here in front of my hometown,” commented Dungey. “My bike was running perfect tonight and I felt really comfortable all day. I hope to take the momentum of this win into the final rounds and hopefully land back on the top step of the podium a few more times.”

Marvin Musquin dominated the eighth round of the 250SX East Supercross Series to claim his fourth win of the series with a nearly 10-second margin over the rest of the field!

The Red Bull KTM Factory riders then completely dominated the MX GP of Italy on Sunday where Tony Cairoli and Ken de Dycker finished 1-2 in MX1 and Jeffrey Herlings and Jordi Tixier 1-2 in MX2. This great performance also drew praise from factory team manager Claudio de Carli:The fact that both the MX1 and MX2 riders are so good on hard pack and sand is the result of very hard work during winter training. They always train together and motivate and push each other and this creates a harmony that his very good for the team. It’s real team work!”

Tony Cairoli: “Yesterday I was struggling a bit with the hard pack. I know I had to make two good starts because everyone here has a good speed. So I got the two holeshots and I could push to the last lap. There was more tension in the first race because I had Paulin and Desalle right behind me but in the second I pushed for the first 20-25 minutes. I knew I had Ken behind me and he was controlling the riders behind him so we had a pretty nice race together.”

Jeffrey Herlings: “The riding was really good. There’s just one thing to work on and that’s the start but in Bulgaria that will be less important because you have a 180 degree turn so hopefully we can work on that and maybe have some new set up for the bike. Even if its hard pack or sand it doesn’t really matter anymore. I’m the fastest on all the tracks up to now so I hope to have this consistency, not to make mistakes and not give up the dream of being undefeated.”
