KTM RIDERS ENJOY GREAT SUCCESS AT THE 2014 SIX DAYS IN ARGENTINA!

KTM factory riders wrapped up a good week at the 2014 InternationaI Six Days Enduro (ISDE) Argentina in San Juan with Christophe Nambotin taking a class victory in E1 and contributing to Team France’s medal winning victory in the coveted World Trophy.

Toby Price (Team Australia) and Ivan Cervantes (Team Spain) finished 1-2 in the E3 class and Kailub Russell (Team USA) and Matthew Phillips (Team Australia) were 2-3 in E2. USA and Spain took 2-3 in the World Trophy while USA, France and Australia were the top finishers in the Junior Trophy.

KTM Enduro Factory Team Boss Fabio Farioli said he was pleased with his riders, especially with Christophe Nambotin being the dominant E1 rider while Toby Price and Ivan Cervantes duked it out in the E3 class: “Toby was very fast on the sand and the stones. He surprised me a lot.” He adds that Cervantes and Matthew Phillips had done particularly well given the fact that that they both had still not completely recovered from injuries sustained in the world championship season and Phillips also switched the another bike. “Phillips did a great job. He is new to the 350 EXC-F and he didn’t have a lot of practice time on it before this event. Furthermore both he and Cervantes are still recovering from injury,” Fairoli continued.
Christophe Nambotin (1st E1 class & 1st World Trophy Team France): “When I came here my focus was to try and fight for the overall victory, but with a lot of sand tests it was too much. But it’s good to have won the Enduro 1 class. I’m very happy about that and helping France to go for the victory.”

Toby Price (1st E3 class & 2nd overall): “I’m more than pleased with how things have gone this week. To finish second overall and win the Enduro 3 category is really, really good. It’s been a long, tough week. I can’t fault my bike at all. Aside from a couple of crashes everything went to plan. It’s been a great week.”

Kailub Russell (2nd E2 class & 2nd World Trophy Team USA): “Overall it’s great to finish the race second as a team. Unfortunately we had a number of issues that cost us a chance of winning. On the first two days it took me a while to settle in, but as the week wore on I got better and better. Capping things off by winning Day Six is great. I’ve enjoyed it a lot.”

KTM riders were also dominant in the Manufacturer’s Trophy, won by KTM 1 (Nambotin, Phillips, Cervantes), Husqvarna 1 was second, KTM 3 (Price, Sanders, V. Guerrero) took third place, KTM 2 (Mullins, Robert, Russell) was fourth and KTM 4 (G. Baylor, S. Baylor, Jones) finished fifth.
