2010: Checked shirts are back for all, a timeless fashion classic and its latest key piece.
Today, men are channelling Jack Kerouac and the Beat poets (who made them indescribably
hip back in the 1950s) and Kurt Cobain (who made anti-fashion fashion in the early 1990s),
while women are sporting checks tight and tied at the waist (think Daisy Duke in “The Dukes of
Hazzard”), and as oversized “boyfriend” shirts teamed to a tee with a pair of jeans (Levi's®
501® are perfect). Whether on the streets, where they have been long loved by streetwear
aficionados, or on high fashion’s catwalks, where they have made a recent, high-profile

classic red-and-white check and three-quarter-length sleeves; one-pocket, short-bubblesleeved
