Lexter Sound Design awarded in the International Sound Awards 2018

On the 20th of September the International Sound Awards was held at the legendary music club Gruenspan in Hamburg. The purpose of the International Sound Awards is to reward and pay attention to the best and most innovative projects within sound and music with the motto: “Make the world sound better!”.

Lexter Sound Design entered the competition with its audio branding and holistic sound design at the unique shopping center Mood Stockholm in three different categories: Audio branding, Audio Marketing and Soundscapes and ambient sound and was nominated in all three categories. During the evening Lexter was awarded with the prestigious ISAbell Winner in the two categories: Audio Marketing and Soundscapes and Ambient Sound and also received the Better Sound award in all of the three categories.

“It feels fantastic to receive the five awards for our sound design at Mood Stockholm. We have been working with Mood Stockholm since the opening and we are very happy that the sound design gets such nice attention.” says Margareta Andersson, founder and sound architect at Lexter Sound Design.

The twenty one nominees came from all over the world and besides Sweden there were contributions from Australia, Belgium, Costa Rica, England, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy and Switzerland.

Mood Stockholm is a unique shopping center in the heart of Stockholm, with carefully selected boutiques, beauty salons, restaurants and cafés. Before the opening in 2012 a conscious decision was made by the owners, AMF Properties, to let sound be an important part of the overall customer experience and brand. During this stage Lexter Sound Design was invited to create a sound design concept for the shopping center. This resulted in an audio branded and holistic sound design solution that consists of twenty two audio zones that enhances all the characteristics and contrasts within Mood Stockholm, such as the general areas, the unique artworks, the escalators and the urban garden. The sound design is also used in external marketing channels, adjusted for different types of media. Lexter Sound Design has since the beginning worked in an active and creative way, in close collaboration with Mood Stockholm, to keep the sound design a living and strengthening part of the Mood Stockholm brand.

During the International Sound Awards 2017, Lexter Sound Design received three ISAbell Winner and five Better Sound awards for the projects The Impossible Run and Where the Light Guides You.
