MTGx initiates unique industry collaboration to get more women into media and tech

Earlier this year MTGx, Spotify and Google hosted the first Women in Tech event. The event took place on the International Women’s Day in Stockholm and was a great success with over 400 participants, and a day full of networking, insight and inspiration. This year, we take the Women in Tech event to the next level by introducing the Women in Tech Award.

The Women in Tech event was created in order to inspire talented women to consider a future in media and technology by providing the network and experience of successful women/men from the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds.

Brands team up with SIME to inspire and connect Women in Tech
At SIME on 11-12th of November, MTGx will partner up with Microsoft, Samsung, Spotify, Google, TeliaSonera, Tele2, Schibsted and Bonnier in order to together invite talented women to SIME WIT, where we will host a WIT panel and announce a new WIT Award that will be handed out on WIT 2015 in Stockholm next year.

- I’m happy to take the WIT initiative to the next level and have all these great companies on board in expanding the Women in Tech movement. To partner up with the SIME conference help us accelerate the message to the industry and get even more companies to join in making a difference, says Rikard Steiber, CEO MTGx & Viaplay and Chief Digital Officer MTG.

- We need to support each other in our careers to make sure that we stay and grow within the industry. It is also imperative to have women driving the development of the products as we drive much of the consumption in society, says Louise Wachtmeister, Director of Communications MTGx/Viaplay.
