MTGx launches eSports Studio

MTGx, the digital accelerator of leading international entertainment group Modern Times Group, announced today that they have built an eSports Studio in Stockholm, the DreamHack TV6 Studio, to be launched on February 20th.

The DreamHack TV6 Studio will be inaugurated on February 20th. DreamHack SteelSeries CS:GO Invitational will be the premiere event in the DreamHack TV6 Studio. It will be broadcasted on TV6 in Sweden and on MTG´s other channels globally. Four of  the world’s best teams will compete for $10,000 in prize money in a one day double elimination tournament.

The studio is a partnership between MTGx and DreamHack. The partnership was formed in September last year, with the objective to create a global dedicated eSports studio.

“MTGx is proud to announce that DreamHack TV6 Studio stands ready to host the best eSports tournaments, and to broadcast them globally on MTG´s channels around the clock. eSports is a growing market, and this initiative is an important step to make the best games and tournaments available to the eSports fans globally” says Rikard Steiber, Chief Digital Officer of Modern Times Group, and CEO of MTGx.
