Nobel Nymph

Norwegian actor Axel Hennie was honored with the prestigious Golden Nymph Award for his role in the drama series Nobel. He was selected in competition with Jude Law (The Young Pope), Rufus Sewell (Victoria) and Gustaf Hammarsten (Midnight Sun).

The Nymph was handed out in a ceremony Tuesday June 20th during the Monaco TV Festival, and Executive Producer and CEO Monster Scripted, Håkon Briseid, accepted the award on behalf of Hennie.

Nobel was also nominated in the category for Best Television Drama Series alongside series such as Billions, The Break, Victoria and The Young Pope. Tuva Novotny was nominated as Outstanding Acress.

Nobel places a dramatic conspiracy plot in the middle of Norway’s war in Afghanistan and at the centre of the world’s most famous humanitarian prize. Politics and social commentary are combined in this gripping thriller produced by Monster Scripted. The 8 episode series aired for the first time on Norwegian Public Broadcaster NRK, and has been sold all over the world. You can watch the trailer here

The Golden Nymph Awards are among the most prestigious prizes in international television, rewarding the best TV programs and actors. Over the course of the Festival, an international jury of leading actors and industry professionals attend screenings of all the programs in competition.

The Golden Nymph statuettes are copies of the Nymph Salmacis, the original of which can still be seen at the Louvre in Paris. The original was created by the Monégasque artist François-Joseph Bosio, who was chief court sculptor to Louis XVIII.
