New design LNG trailers for Sweden

Stavanger, April 10, 2015: The new type of trailer has delivered its first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from the Skangass storing terminal in Lysekil. The trailer is tailor-made forLNG transportation and manufactured by the experienced supplier Cryolor in France.

This is the first of five trailers of its kind. They will operate between the Skangass’ terminal in Lysekil and the customer SSAB in Borlänge, Sweden, covering a distance of 420 km. The owner and operator, ScanTank Gass AB, will put the remaining trailers into service during spring 2015.

Reduced environmental footprint

The environmental impact of transportation to SSAB is now considerably improved, which is illustrated by the emission reduction of about 30% Co2. The work environment for the drivers is also improved by the efficient delivery schedules and safer truck operations.

Improved functionality

“These trailers are designed to meet the Swedish road regulations and designed on the basis of several years of hands-on experience. Aspects such as the safety functions have now been optimized thanks to gas and vehicle technical engineering,” says Steinar Karlsen CEO of ScanTank Gass in Sweden.

Skangass has an agreement with ScanTank Gass AB for several years to come.
