7th Conference on Industrial Computed Tomography (ICT) in Belgium

Alfred Nobel Science Park, together with representatives from Bofors Test Centre and Örebro University, attended the 7th Conference on Industrial Computed Tomography (ICT) in Belgium. Computed Tomography is a growing technology that has strong connections to Additive Manufacturing, one of the profile areas of Alfred Nobel Science Park.

An excellent conference, it covered a range of research topics as well as industrial applications, and allowed participants to be informed of ongoing innovative work and future technology trends. Although still a maturing technology, the breadth of application of Computed Tomography (CT) is vast, and presentations covered a range of uses, including electronics, sculptures, beer bottles, oil and gas markets, building material, food and even lunar samples. Additionally, CT manufacturers were present and took the opportunity to update on their product research and developments. The ICT was an ideal learning opportunity, and allowed new contacts to be made, which for the Science Park included the UK’s Manufacturing Technology Centre as well as Huddersfield University.
