​Offecct launches its new collection Edition - furniture revived

Offecct manifests its love for the history of architecture and sustainable design with the launch of a new collection named Edition.

In the work we do and the furniture we produce at Offecct we see a clear connection to the history of architecture and design and with that comes the realisation that the innovations of the past are often the foundation on which we continue to build today. For that reason we are now launching the new collection Offecct Edition. This collection will consist of furniture and products from the history of architecture and design. These products are united by their unique ability to inspire, but also by the fact that they have been unavailable or even neglected for a long time.

The pieces that will be launched in Offecct Edition all deserve to be seen in a new light and to be appreciated by new generations who, just like us, believe in sustainable and timeless design.

The first two projects that will be launched in Offecct Edition are designed by two of the most influential architects of the 20th century. In a unique collaboration with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, Offecct has developed an acoustic panel with the pattern Ennis, designed in 1924 by the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright® (1867-1959). The second project to be launched in Offecct Edition is the table Markelius 01, designed in 1930 by Sven Markelius (1889-1972), one of the pioneers of Swedish Modernism.

– There were many historical personalities, buildings and pieces of design that inspired us when we founded Offecct in 1990. It is with great excitement that we, with the launch of Edition, can contribute to make parts of that history available to new and younger generations. Edition is also connecting to our philosophy Lifecircle. Offecct has always been, and will always be, committed to develop and produce original and sustainable design”, says Kurt Tingdal, CEO of Offecct.

– What is considered classics today is often pieces of furniture that, at the time of its release, didn’t actually receive the kind of recognition or impact that it deserved. By introducing older furniture in a new edition, we want to contribute in bringing forward innovations that might have been forgotten or perhaps didn’t reach consumers, but which both have a given place on the market as well as compelling and important story to tell, says Anders Englund, Design Manager of Offecct.
