Big steps towards better para sport in the Nordic region

The "All In project" have today taken major steps forward in order to intensify it’s way toward the goal of getting more people to choose an active lifestyle. "All in" is a European cross-border project with the main objective of getting more people with disabilities to continue training, exercising and benefitting from sports positive results through giving it a lifelong commitment.

I’m also very hopeful that by the works conclusions we’ll be able to take further steps in our important work in getting more people with disabilities a more active lifestyle and through that a longer life, says Johan Strid, Secretary General of Parasport Sweden.”

The project "All In" includes partners from different parts of Europe. On Thursday and Friday, a conference were held in Stockholms, Sweden, and conducted the projects work in order to take it further. The result of the conference were a conclusion of effective ways to achieve the objectives over time, witch is to get a more successful result from the Nordic countries in Paralympics and provide better possibilities for a life-long active life throughout parasport.

The project runs 2017-2019.

Svenska Parasportförbundet och Sveriges Paralympiska Kommitté är ett av 71 Specialidrottsförbund (SF) inom Riksidrottsförbundet (RF) och administrerar idrott för personer med rörelsehinder, synskador och utvecklingsstörning inom 19 idrotter. Vi har ca 37 000 medlemmar organiserade i ca 500 föreningar. Parasportförbundet innehar även rollen som Sveriges Paralympiska Kommitté med ansvar för den paralympiska idrotten, som även inkluderar idrott organiserad inom ett antal andra SF. Vi leder också arbetet med Special Olympics Sweden, som är bredd- och motionsidrott för personer med utvecklingsstörning.

Notering: Paralympics är Parasportens motsvarighet till de Olympiska Spelen.
