Swedish Startup Pimobo is ready to take the place of Pinterest acquired Icebergs.com

To fill the gap after Pinterest acquired and closed down Icebergs.com, the Stockholm based startup Pimobo invites all Icebergs.com users to become beta users for their digital moodboard allowing creative professionals to capture market trends and ideas, and collaborate around design concepts.

Last week, Pinterest acquired Icebergs.com. Pinterest will discontinue the popular visual organization service trusted by hundreds of thousands creative professionals. Users have until September 1st to export their data, but will at that point be without a professional tool for organizing design content such as images, videos and digital documents.

To fill the gap, the Stockholm based startup Pimobo is hurrying to finalize it’s moodboard targeted at the professional market. Pimobo.com will allow designers to follow market trends, capture inspiration and collaborate with colleagues and clients.

“Physical moodboards were a great way for designers to capture inspiration and collaborate around design concepts” says Pimobo’s spokesperson Kenneth Hellem. “However, today designers work with digital content and collaborate across the globe. Pimobo.com brings the moodboard into the digital age with an easy to use cloud based solution that integrates with the tools already being used by creative professionals.”

Pimobo is a partner of PTC one of the worlds largest technology companies focused on product design and manufacturing, and is planning a pilot project with one global apparel brand. “We’ve already tested the alpha version with a handful of designers” says Hellem, “but since Icebergs.com is shutting down, we have decided to accelerate the development to provide a professional alternative for Icebergs’ users.”

Pimobo will release an invitation-only beta version in September 2014, and is extending an invitation to all existing Iceberg users who signup at www.pimobo.com prior to September 1st. Other users will receive access to the service on a first come first serve basis.
