Volunteer blog: My first week by Jeanette

My name is Jeanette Norman, I am the new intern here on Project Playground. I have got the opportunity to really be ”a part of the puzzle”. I will spend about four months here in Cape Town, and I will try to share every story and all the amazing work that PPG are doing for the children in Langa.

I was in Cape town for the first time six years ago, together with my dad. I loved the city from the start, and I already knew back then that I would return some day. During the visit, we had a guided tour in Langa. I have very clear memories from that tour, especially when I saw the city from the motorway. It was very special! I will never forget when our bus stopped and when the children ran to us, they wanted to have a hug! It was, of course, very different from my home country Sweden. I think that it is thanks to that experience that I am here today.

During my first week here in Langa, I have felt very welcomed. All the people, and the staff, are so kindly. I am sure that this will be one the greatest experiences in my life!
