Fundraising Dinner in Borås 2013

Friday the 8th of March Project Playground held its second Fundraising Dinner at Grand Hotel in Borås. The evening was sponsored by Stena, Jarno Vanhatapio and Henrik Reinert and welcomed just over 90 guests, of which some were escorted to and from the dinner by Porsche. We enjoyed a three course dinner composed by Grand Hotel and were entertained by auctioneer and comedian for the evening Hasse Brontén, who made sure that the atmosphere was on top! We also had the pleasure to present two amazing artists, Shirley Clamp sang for us with her wonderful voice and Jamie Meyer, accompanied by Magnus Lervik, blew us away with their voices and guitars. We also had a very special guest, Mapanya, our project manager from our center in Langa. We flew him over to Sweden especially for this event and to visit schools and sponsors. He held an amazing speech about Project Playground and our vision for our guests that was very much appreciated.

The items auctioned during the evening were amazing. For example, we had soccer shirts signed by Zlatan, Messi and Ronaldo, a trip to South Africa, sponsored by Protea Hotels and Turkish Airlines, racing experiences from Polestar, Team Tidö and Porsche, wonderful arts from Linnea Frank and Hannes Michanek, a cruise and a Mont Blanc pencil from Stena, tickets to soccer games in England from both Turkish Airlines and GO Sport Travel and many more.

Last year this Fundraising Dinner managed to raise close to 700.000 SEK which was a result we never could have imagined. Amazingly, this year’s result beat 2012 by far! We managed to raise astonishing 1.000.000 SEK directly to Project Playground, all of which will contribute to change the lives of many little souls and realize their hopes and dreams.
