NEW FOODIE DESTINATION IN THE HEART OF THE MARRAKECH MEDINA OPENS OCTOBER 18
Opening in October 2017, this new stylish restaurant in the heart of Marrakech Medina will be specialising in historic Moroccan dishes and modern International classics. Le Trou au Mur will combine the very best of Moroccan home cooking with a few international comfort dishes that you just can’t live without.
Le Trou au Mur set aim to bring a breath of fresh air to the Marrakech restaurant scene with the ambition to become the new foodie destination in town. Chic, laid back, fun and intimate but, above all, totally serious about food, the restaurant is fully licenced and will be open 18.00-00.00 every day except Tuesdays.
Here you can enjoy an early supper with a glass of wine on the roof, or dine at any time in the stylish restaurant. The interior décor is a unique blend of superb local craftsmanship with the best of modern European style.
With its own traditional clay mechoui oven on view, melt-in-the mouth mechuoi roasts will be a feature, but no less so than a variety of carefully researched old family recipes rarely seen outside private Moroccan homes. Traditional dishes like Berkoukesh, Ombrine and Offal Medley will always be on the menu.
For those in need of another Tagine fix, there will be a superb daily special. For those who don’t, Gourmet Burgers, Stuffed Calamari and Mac ’n’ Cheese will be on hand too. The desert menu is also filled with delicious treats like Banoffee Pie, Mahensha and Doughnuts with three fillings.
"We felt that there was something missing from the restaurant scene in the Marrakech medina so we have created something new and exciting to plug the gap with a combination of Moroccan dishes from a forgotten era and international comfort food.” Says James Wix, owner of Le Trou au Mur.
