Press release -

Direktpress hyper local news site one of Sweden's top 100 websites, all categories

As the Swedish edition of IDG publication Internetworld published their list of Sweden's top 100 websites, Direktpress' site for hyperlocal news from all parts of Stockholm, StockholmDirekt, was awarded the 2016 prize of honor with the following motivation:

"Direktpress is becoming a true competitor to traditional newspapers in Stockholm. Their collective site, where the content from all their (19) city districts is aggregated, is sheer pleasure to read – truly engaging local journalism that is widely shared in social media"

While pagination for the print edition is centralized, Direktpress journalists work in the local communities they are covering, and use Roxen's tools for editorial production and publishing in an "online-first" workflow, engaging their audience through social media, video etc.

Heléne Claesson, Editor in Chief at Direktpress attributes the success to the hard work of her staff members:

"StockholmDirekt speaks with a unique voice in Stockholm. We deliver important and impactful journalism mixed with fun tidbits, community debate and citizen profiles. We work hard to be part of everyday life in Stockholm and we now see this reflected in StockholmDirekt reader growth."

Direktpress was one of the first newspapers to migrate to Roxen News Website, Roxen's out-of-the-box, integrated and responsive Web CMS for news media.
