From HR self-services to “all-inclusive” process applications

SAP has driven the HR IT development for the last decade into increasing end-user centricity and user friendliness. From my experience, it is clear that implementations of “SuccessFactors”, involves standardizing and re-engineering HR information and processes. When done right, this gives significantly more efficient core HR process and enables integrated talent management and high-value reporting.

The corporate HR function has traditionally been geared towards administrative delivery with little harmonization and limited IT end-user support. For the last decade, SAP has moved us from isolated self-service transactions to SAP SuccessFactors, an end-user centric application that integrates processes and information. As an SAP HR consultant with Accenture, I’ve been working for the past 10 years with a few of the largest companies in Sweden and their HR functions. Almost all projects have been SAP HR/HCM implementations with some degree of process harmonization; portal implementations, interactive forms and, now, SaaS implementations.

To me, it is clear that each technological step from SAP has forced the HR function to further standardize and relocate processes from administration into the hands of HR professionals, managers and employees. When implementing SAP SuccessFactors at Axfood a clear focus was put on process harmonization and as a result, they improved core delivery and enabled information-driven talent management.

Come to Axfoods presentation at the SAP Innovation Forum in Stockholm 11.30-12.00 and join the discussions at the lunch break out.
